Investigation of the wear behavior of abrasive grits in a dry machining Inconel 718 narrow-deep-groove with a single-layer cubic boron nitride grinding wheel

چکیده
The wear behavior of a single-layer electroplated cubic boron nitride (cBN) grinding wheel was investigated in creep feed Inconel 718 narrow-deep-groove with width 2 mm. In this paper, the protrusion height cBN grits on side edge measured by three-dimensional optical profiler, and scanning electron microscope used to detect topography worn grit nickel bonding layer. investigation results indicated that steady stage shared more than 84.6% life span, machining precision kept at high level. fracture mode proven be cleavage. sources cleavage cracks were observed surface flat or grit. holding strength could weakened due joint breakage, displacement grit, transition layer contributed decrease strength. Severe macro fractures concentration pulled out inner area edge, separately. This study provides deep understanding mechanism wheel.
